Come join us for an afternoon of Talks and a Members’ meeting

DATE: Saturday 10th December 2022

LOCATION: The Earl’s Suite, The Radisson Hotel Athlone

AGM TIME: 10 – 10.30am


After the AGM there will be presentations and talks from members, followed by lunch.

We will have a Members’ Meeting in the afternoon.

Presentations on topics including the Scottish Broch, activities of the charity in 2022 and more.

A full schedule of talks and presentations will be available as speakers are confirmed.

The afternoon members meeting is where we will have the opportunity to discuss various actions of DSWAI for 2023 and for members to get more involved.

We hope to be finished by 3pm


We would love to see you for all or any part of the day.


There will be complimentary tea/coffee and scones for all attendees. If you wish to join us for lunch we would be delighted to see you. Lunch costs €10 which you can book when sending your r.s.v.p.


Information for members on AGM agenda and format


Nominations to the Board of Trustees is still open. We would be delighted to hear from members wishing to join our board or from members wishing to nominate a member for a position on the board.


The closing date for nominations in time for election at the AGM is December 3rd.


All members, whose membership is paid up to date, are entitled to vote at the AGM. Each member has one vote per resolution and each member is entitled to send a person of their choosing to vote at the AGM on their behalf. If you wish to avail of the proxy then please fill out the proxy form included, sign it, scan it and email it to the association (info@dswai.ie) before midnight on Friday 9th December. Should you have any difficulty with this format of proxy submission please don’t hesitate to drop us a line at the email above (in plenty of time) and we will find a way for you to appoint a proxy on your behalf.


All Trustees are entitled to go forward for re-election.


At present, we have no nominations for new Trustees and one board member will not be going forward for re-election.


Important: Members please note that your membership renewal must be up to date in order to have a vote at the AGM. If your subscription has lapsed, please ensure it is renewed before the 9th December. Thank you!


Proxy form.


Should you wish to appoint a proxy to attend the AGM on your behalf then please print and fill out the form (click on image to download) , scan it and email it to us at info@dswai.ie in plenty of time for your proxy to be added to the list of attendees. A proxy does not need to be a member of DSWAI.


NOTE:Only members whose subscription is up to date will be entitled to vote at the AGM

Presentations and Talks

After the AGM will be a series of presentations and talks by current board and ordinary members.


We would love to see you at the talks.


But especially to see you at the Member’s meeting in the afternoon. It’s a great chance to get to know each other a bit better.


Especially as this will be our first face to face members meeting in quite some time because of the pandemic.


We hope to discuss plans for 2023 including the continuance of The Waldemar Wower Bursary, Erasmus+ 4, The UNESCO nomination, Workshops, Members projects and meet-ups, volunteering opportunities and more.


2023 is the year we will be developing our new Strategic Management Plan for the next cycle 2024-27.


The Trustees would love to hear your voice on where we might go in that time.


We are really looking forward to seeing lots you on Saturday 10th December in Athlone.
